If golden browns go orange on you, swatch it at a counter first. Just a warning! - on some people, Cork can turn orange. Wearing Cork in my crease and along my lower lash lines I’ll alternate between the two, but I choose Cork more often when I’m wearing a super saturated lid color because it’s easier for me to transition a bold lid shade to a more medium-toned brown like Cork (the gradient isn’t as dramatic as going to something lighter). The neutral-ness (?) of the brown sculpts a deeper shadow in my crease than warmer shades like MAC Soft Brown or Saddle.īy the way, it’s also darker than MAC Soba, which is another neutral brown MAC Satin eyeshadow I use a lot as a crease color. For me, it’s an oftentimes underrated makeup morsel, a permanent collection product that scoots under the radar screen of many makeup lovers but regularly rocks my world. Definitely give a try before picking it up. 🙂 I wouldn’t call this a universally flattering shade. Mauve/ plum / purples bring out the greens of the eyes. If you have green eyes, rather than picking up a regular brown go for a plummy shade. I feel it makes me look tired when I apply it all over. Satin Taupe: a real famous MAC eyeshadow This is a taupe (a beige-gray) with bronze and purple undertones. Perfect to make the green in my eyes pop. You can smudge your kohl with it and it creates lovely smokey eyes. MAC Satin Taupe, Blackberry, Shale and Haux eyeshadows: For these four shadows, it’s rather a combination of cool undertone colors. I love how the reddish undertones add a bit of warmth to the look. When I am not in a mood to wear my regular brown eyeshadows, Haux is what I reach for. It’s more of a transition / socket shade. Longevity : stays all day long without creasing.Color : soft muted rosy brown / a soft brown with plum undertones.
